We've tried to make this site as easy as possible to use. If you do come across any problems ask your teacher/lecturer in the first case. If you're still stuck, then email our help team at support@bigchallenge.biz.
To access your team page, use the 'Sign in' button at the top of any of the pages. You will be asked for your username and password, which you should get from your teacher/lecturer. Any time you are logged in, clicking the 'Sign in' button will take you to your admin pages.
Once in your admin section, use the menu items to edit your team page, add blogs, chatter, trading posts etc. On the blog page, once you have added some blog text, you will be able to add photos and videos to your blog using the upload photo or add video features.
First you have to create your team logo. This should be around 460 wide x 350 high pixels. Try not to upload huge files as this will take a long time!
Use the Logo upload feature in your Team Admin page to locate your logo then send it to the site.
Very much the same process as adding your logo - see above.
This account should be setup by your school's Big Challenge nominated film person and should be done with your school's permission - speak to your Big Challenge teacher first.
Check that your school's IT systems allow you to view and upload video clips.
Go to http://www.video.google.com
Towards the top right of the screen under "My Videos" click on "upload your videos"
On the right of the screen it says "Do you not have a Google account? Create an account now"
Fill in the required information and click on "I accept. Create my account"
You are now ready to upload clips.
You will need your camcorder, a suitable cable (normally a 1394 firewire cable) and some editing software on the computer

Finished clips should be no longer than 2 minutes maximum.
Use the video editing software to capture the clips, the ideal clip capture size is 320 x 280 (you may need to go to preferences to adjust this from the default 720 x 576). Use the QuickTime or Windows Media settings to help reduce file size. A 2 minute video clip should not exceed 20mb.
Log in to your Google account and click on "Upload your videos" Click on the browse button and locate the video clip you wish to upload Give your clip a title (please give thought to how you will catalogue your clips) so you know what they are about when you come to add to your Big Challenge Blog site. Write a description of your clip Select Genre for this choose - "Business" Select "Unlisted" option not public Tick the terms and condition box then click on upload It may take some time to upload - usually your clip will go live within 1 hour of it being upload - you will also be sent an email confirming you video has been uploaded. In this email is a link - if you copy this link and then paste it into your Big Challenge blog the video will appear. See instructions below for more details.
Once you've added a video to Google Video, copy the "Embed Video" link then paste that into the video link field in your blog admin page.
