My Team Page

When you login Click the my Team page to edit everything associated with your team including: Blog, Profile Photos, Team Information etc

 

Creating your team banner

Your team banner graphic needs to be sized correctly for the space it needs to go in. The banner size should be: 660 pixels wide x 121 pixels high, at 72 DPI.

Editing your personal profile (and adding a photo)

Click your profile link under the main team info on the my team page

This should bring up your profile page with boxes, you need to fill out all the boxes and this text will form your profile page (other people will see the info not the boxes)

After typing click finish

To add a photo when your in the editing mode click the edit photo button at the far bottom of the page

Browse your image on your computer and then click upload

Tadaaa! One profile image :D

 

How To Set Up A Google Video Account

This account should be setup by your schools Big Challenge nominated film person and should be done with your schools permission - speak to your Big Challenge teacher first.

Check that your schools IT systems allow you to view and upload video clips

Go to http://www.video.google.com

Towards the top right of the screen under "My Videos" click on "upload your videos"

On the right of the screen it says "Do you not have a Google account? Create an account now"

Fill in the required information and click on "I accept. Create my account"

You are now ready to upload clips

 

Information About Clips Captured from Camera to Computer

You will need your camcorder, a suitable cable (normally a 1394 firewire cable) and some editing software on the computer

You may need to seek the advice of your school's IT department here (for additional advice contact info@proconsultancy.org.uk)

Finished clips should be no longer than 2 minutes maximum.

Use the video editing software to capture the clips, the ideal clip capture size is 320 x 280 (you may need to go to preferences to adjust this from the default 720 x 576). Use the QuickTime or Windows Media settings to help reduce file size. A 2 minute video clip should not exceed 20mb.

 

Uploading Your Captured Clips To Google Video

Log in to your Google account and click on "Upload your videos"

Click on the browse button and locate the video clip you wish to upload

Give your clip a title (please give thought to how you will catalogue your clips) so you know what they are about when you come to add to your Big Challenge Blog site.

Write a description of your clip

Select Genre for this choose - "Business"

Select "Unlisted" option not public

Tick the terms and condition box then click on upload

It may take some time to upload - usually your clip will go live within 1 hour of it being upload - you will also be sent an email confirming you video has been uploaded. In this email is a link - if you copy this link and then paste it into your Big Challenge blog the video will appear. See instructions below for more details.

 

Adding Video To Your Big Challenge Blog

Go to http://www.bigchallenge.biz and log on using your user name and password. The log in function can be found at the top right of the screen

Once you are logged in - select the "My team" button
