Ch-Ch-Changes!

Recently, Red Tape Tukka has been going through numerous changes. Because of the vending machines now being installed in Red Tape Central, this gave us competition to what we were trying to achieve. We today had a board meeting to think about how we could expand our business, and came up with the idea of a sandwich service for staff. We went to different sandwich shops around Sheffield, and got menus from them. After analysing and comparing their prices, we decided to start negotiations with a local cafe, to provide us with reduced cost sandwiches. The basic idea is that we take orders from the staff and students at Red Tape Central, then we buy the sandwiches from a local cafe; at a discount price, then sell them here, making a profit.

Community ICT Workshop

Soon, 3-Step Media are to be holding a community ICT workshop teaching members of the community how to use ICT in their everyday lives. Me, Becky and Gina started making tutus today, with a bit of help from an experienced designer. We now know exactly how to trim, make and price the tutus.

We are going to make lots more and as we are gaining confidence and better looking tutus with each snip, hopefully these will sell very fast!

3-Step Media have this week officially released our new eco products range, named GoGreen.

The main focus of this green venture is to promote eco-friendliness and help save our planet!

We have a brand new range of high quality, reasonably priced stationery products ranging from pens and pencils to colouring pens, rulers, folders and notebooks!

Welcome to Livetech

Hello and Welcome to Livetech,

This week's been pretty busy, we've had 3 different pickups from 3 different schools, collecting a total of 40 Computers complete with monitors, keyboards and mice as well as several printers, scanners and even a television !

The new team have come together really well and we have taken on more staff recently, Ricky and Jake who have proven to be a valuable asset to the team.

Pickups

We have picked up several Pentium 4 Computers, as well as loads of old and ancient equipment such as the old ACORN computers of yesteryear, that didn't even run Windows 95!

We have been doing well so far in getting our shipment ready for the Africa Project and we have around 60 computers ready.

Website

We have started work on the new Livetech website and we are making great progress. We are going with a totally new design which will allow us to expand and grow the website where needed.

Livetech has moved

Livetech is now in its new building, Red Tape Central, based at 50 Shoreham Street Sheffield. We are now in a prime location to promote Livetech to our target audience. Our new room is modern and comfortable to work in and we have settled in quickly to this new workspace.

Presentations

Recently we have done 3 presentations to different groups. These include Peter Jones from The Dragons Den, 5 of the "Top 200" MP's within the UK and David Gray Group managing OSL Group Holding Ltd , which has helped us develop our confidence.

Well, that's all from us this time, our next blog will be in around a week when we hopefully have more news.

Out and about in the community

On 5th October 2008, 3-Step Media booked a stall at the immensely popular RedRat Computer Fair at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield.

The event opened from 10am - 3pm and the team set up a brilliant stall!

All our staff were at the event and we sold lots and lots of products - which was excellent!

Many stall owners were talking to us afterwards and some shook our hands and congratulated us on our student business ideas.

Stall owners were telling us that they found it difficult to break even on the day, even though around 5000 people visited the stadium - we made a profit and that's a big thumbs up for us!

We will be launching many more community events soon so keep checking our blogs.
