Just a few things which has been happening over the last and next couple of days  :)

1. Price's - The Team had a meeting yesterday to Discus our prices. We were finding that they were unbelievably cheap from customers and colleagues. We looked at our current supply and demand (Also creating a supply and demand graph) finding the best price for our market and still keeping us cheap and affordable. The new prices will be on our website soon http://www.live-tech.co.uk/

2. More Stock Due to Arrive - Tomorrow Livetech have other pickup of recycled IT equipment from a local church Charity. Livetech are doing this service all for free except for our van hire which is £20. Also the team are coming in on their day off to sort it out! (thats commitment!)

3. Big Challenge Report - The Team are have now got a draft our final report!

4. Our Website - Also we are creating a Livetech online store! Which will soon to be up and running soon. This will allow us to show offers, sales and stock ready to buy.

5. New Stock - Livetech got brand new computer components to sell to the public today. Instead of just selling recycled parts , we are going to trail selling brand new as well. If this goes well we will buy more new parts in!

Computers are a main contributor to electronic waste (e-waste), which pose a major disposal issue because they are made up of various components that are toxic to the environment.

The Institute for Local Self-Reliance estimates that 75 percent of obsolete electronics are currently being stored, which will one day result in a massive disposal issue for the country and the world.

Thats why Livetech business idea came from!

You may think your old computer is a pile of rubbish, but instead of throwing away and make more hassle on the environment. Why don't you recycle it!

Our Aim of our business is to train new people and get them into IT (One of the biggest growing industries there is)through apprenticeships sending IT equipment to us we are able to teach,learn and fund this. Also we do administrator apprenticeships. 

Many people don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on new flash computer! (Like us silly numptys at Livetech) as we've found by our customers they either want a computer to just use course work and use the email. Starting at around £20 you can get a computer what does all this, saving you a fortune.

So in the end everyones happy! Its like a big circle

Time really has flown since the beginning of the Big Challenge! Livetech come out of a meeting concering the business and the Big Challenge.

In our meeting we talked about the progress report  which is due soon. We all discussed each question and took notes and ideas.

We also had a think about our presentation to the judges and had a laugh at some crazy ideas, (which were not going to tell you). On friday the team has agreed to all come in on there day off! (pfft were not getting any more pay either!) and have a few hours trialing idea's and proberly going out for a big lunch!

These now keep us from getting our own clothes covered in dust and make us look proffesional when going out to companys and around and about.

Livetech recycle, repair and refurbish computers. Heres a little peak into our day to day and external work  :)

Livetech go by the 3 R's, Repair,Recycle and Refurbish. Every PC or equipment needs to be looked at weather a customers or for recycling.

Our Repairs are at a fixed fee of *£10* including parts (if similar or in stock)

All equipment which is recycled goes through a check process, a 7 pass hard disk wipe(Due to regulations,PAT Tested(for customers safety), and finally cleaned,then put on the shelf for sale. PC packages(Monitor,keyboard and mice) start at £15!

This is our reception, this is were we process all our orders, repairs, collections and enquires.

We have created our own computer system in order to keep track of everything going in and out of livetech, and to keep the technicians up to scratch with the work which needs to be done.

Customer care is important to us, without customers theres no buisness!

Everyone at Livetech has to known and work with health and safety. Working with IT equipment can be dangerous.

That why we have these handy posters around our room.

All equipment must be recycled correctly, which means we have to follow the WEEE Regulations.

We had to make sure all our cables were tidy and not dangerous for anyone to trip over.

This is the finished results. Our team was sorted according to our departments making work more efficient.

This is our new Stock Room. The two racks you can see here are our ready to be sold/sold equipment.

The monitor on the top, is controlled by our stock manger Tom D. Tom will leave notes and tasks on the screen to help us with our jobs and to let us know if anything is out of stock.

There also is our very nice meeting table.

Hey Hey

Yet another new week for the Livetech team. At the moment we are currently still continuing our sale of our old stock of PC's (Including keyboard, Mouse and monitor) for only £10. This is so we can prepare for lots of new stock.  We have nearly sold every pc. Our main task at the moment (which can be quite boring to be honest) is to keep doing our 7 pass wipes which means they can have tho OS (Ubuntu) put on. (OS= Operating system, who doesn't understand our geeky technical gargon)

Right i guess i better explain the blog title "LiveTech Get Filthy". Before all you get excited Kier or Adam did not take their Clothes off anyone(bet your all really disappointed)

Also the RedTape building is being revamped, and Livetech happily volunteered to lend a helping hand to help clear and move which ending us up getting covered in dust and muck. We ended up grabbing some new stock, some which we useful and are now ready to be refurbished and some which are going to be recycled. For example "The holy Grail Of Mac's" this Mac was so old you couldn't properly use it even for a doorstop. Just shows how technology's changed eh? from big old bulky mac to the nice white shiny ones they now days.

Also Tom our stock manger has got to new shelves to help us cope with all the stock! Might i mention Toms very possessive about his stock and sometimes can be seen walking around with a baseball bat around the area.

Our Marketing Manager Gaz has a funky new Mohawk and funky new posters and leaflets just being approved. We will upload when they are finished.

Also the Livetech team could be coming to your school! Livetech team are hopefully looking into working with pupils from schools in Sheffield by doing a workshop with the younger generation to explain and let them have a chance to build and find out how a pc works. This will help us with our NVQ and Marketing of our business and of course to have a laugh, or as when we received our cheque for the big challenge get picked on by year 7's :(. Sorry we cant remember the team name, but we will say we are scared! Made many members cried that day and are mentally scarred for life.

Now that I've muttered on for god knows how long.

Hello there,      

 We've just had the quickest sale in Livetech history, even quicker than our sale of the Apple Imacs!

Only about 10 minutes ago, 14 new laptops just arrived  from CLC . And within a few minutes they had all gone!

They have all been sold for a bargain of £20 each! KERCHING!

Alots been going on this past week and we have lots of plans for the business. Today we have been busy with customers and jobs to do, the livetech team have been off there feet all day! (Don't be surpised we do actually do work!...Sometimes).

Over the last few days we have sold 5 pc's! And alot of components.We are getting more and more customers everyday as word of mouth is getting around about us.KERCHING!

We have plans to refurnish and decorate company, we have new equiment (example: Desks,chairs etc) on order and we are going to give this place a lick of paint sometime soon, making lifetech all new and sparkily.

Also the livetech team are due to get uniforms! Pink and Black (The guys will get a chance to get to know their feminine side lol)

The team are busy non-stop trying to ready Computers to meet the demand of customers. Every computer which comes in to us have to have a 7 pass wipe (format) of the hardrive and have to have ubuntu and of course making sure it all works. The 7 pass wipes takes half a day to do! As soon as a computer is placed on the shelf its gone again!

There are also talks of getting some huge recycling business with some of the companys around sheffield (cant mention any names just yet) This could be huge for livetech bringing possibly hundreds of pc's in for us to refurbish!

Well the livetech team must be off!

LiveTech

This week has been a great week for us at Livetech we have sold all of our iMac's for £50 pound each (kerching)

Also our january everything must go sale is a propa buzz almost everythin is gone so we are racking in the money :).

At the minute now as i write this blog our order form is filling up so more money is coming in so lets just say we are around well their is a lot to work out so...........

This weeks been one hell of a packed week. Weve kicked it off with our amazing £10 PC sale. Were selling full computers for just £10 pound to make room for new stock.

We also had a few team meetings to sort out stuff like stock and marketing, and also the Oxo man (Paul) come in to record some more footage, so look out for more promo vids soon!

On the talk of promotion theyre promoting me to manager.........yeh okay i wish, anyways yeh promotion. Were thinking of collaberating and gettin our own site (www.live-tech.co.uk) even more jazzed up and enlisting professional assistance.

at the end of this week we have done a lot of work we cleared our room of some files ( 30 boxes of paper at around 20kg each carried half a mile down the road nearly killed us).we have got a custom quote from a council department to buy build and maintain their new it equipment, this is going to be a big profit no numbers for you yet but we will post to scare when we do get the numbers worked out with the customer.
we have got 13 macs free and they have all sold out within 2 days for £50 each.

First day back from Christmas, and were already back working hard. The first job of the year is underway, clearing out RedTape's redundant IT equipment and trust us theres ALOT!

We have our first team meeting of the year on Monday and we'll start planning the year ahead (and booking holiday time for Boston lol)
