We has loads of fun, made loads of money for charity, came closer as a team and group of people and laughed loads along the way!

    NEARING THE END

    Heyy Guys

Counting down the days until the end, not long now.

So an update, as the SmallGiants, we're planning on keeping the badge business open until Wednesday 13th March, and then stop so we're able to complete the final report effectively, good right?!

Thats all for now I think, still haven't heard back from the schools but thats okay for now as we're concentrating on wrapping up this part of the BiG Challenge.

    AS THE DEADLINE DRAWS CLOSER

    Hiyarrr

Only 8 days left, not long now is it!  Exciting stuff.

So anyways, the SmallGiants progress is what you all clearly want to hear about!

The Cupid powerpoint was finished and put into teachers documents, and as far as we know every form class has seen the full presentation and did love it as well as finding it extremely funny.

The badge orders are pouring in, more then ever now. And we are managing to keep on top of orders, so its all good, and we're getting more and more interesting designs everyday!

The SmallGiants thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from people who have brought badges and this is what they had to say:

    "FITT" - Llewelyn,[ISP Team]

"I loved that you could get anything you wanted, once i'd brought one I wanted loads more!- Romana S. [Yr10 Student]

I thought it was a really good idea, when I got mine and took them home my brother saw them and he wanted a couple too!- Kalsoom [Yr10 Student]

We do aim to please. (:

    Anyways thats all for now

    FEW CHANGES & UPDATES

    Heyaa

So a few things have changed since our last blog, as you probably know [if you've been reading our blog] our plan was to read out the Valentines Messages in assemblies however that hasn't been very successful so far, so we've decided that instead we'd make seperate fancy la-di-daa powerpoints for all year groups and put it into the teachers documents [silas knows the techs yanno ;)!] and they'd read the messages when they get time, during tutor time.

Also, the book idea, seen as the deadline is getting closer we realise that we probably won't have enough time to have made any sales of the books, but are getting ready to plan and prepare a prototype in time for the deadline.

So everything is working out well right now :)

    WAHEYY!

We finally have a team photo up!

So from left to right it's, Rehana, Maaria, Silas, and the two lower down are Sahir and Thqdeer with our mentor for the Challenge Mr. O Neill. Aren't we a lovely bunch! Lol

So, yesterday was meant to be our Yr11 assembly but things didn't go exactly to plan, as we also had a guest speaker in the same day, and the speakers part over-ran slightly, and we didn't have get a chance to complete all our messages, but we aren't that worried as we have been invited back for the next assembly to finish it off!

Also, we have written the official letter to the Primary schools, just a case of sending them off now.

    ASSEMBLIES

    Heyaa everyone,

Been a while since I last posted a blog, been busy with Big Challenge stuff haven't we!

Well the Cupid Messenger Service assemblies have started, and are going extremely well if I do say so myself!

Busy week next week, on Monday we plan to write and hopefully send off our letter to the Primary Schools about our Fir Vale Guide book, it was put off as we had the previous ideas to complete and sort out.  So that'll be sorted on Monday.

Tuesday's the assembly we're most looking forward too, the Yr11 [that's our year!] that is if our Head of Year has remembered about it! So we'll let you know how that goes.

Also, the badges are still selling extremely well and the orders are still coming in, even from the teachers now, so that's all good :)

I think that'll do for now.

    LACK OF UPDATES

    Hey Guys

There has been a lack of Blog updates from the SmallGiants , which of course isn't like us!

Anyways, over half-term even though we have been busy with other school commitments including coursework and the likes, but we have made the finishing touches on our Cupid's Messenger Service messages, and are ready for our first mushy assembly tomorrow [Monday 18th], we'll let you know how it goes.

All of the messages were really good and really sweet, some even decided to write their own personal poems, an example of one of the messages without mentioning any names:

To someone in Yr 9, from Anonymous:  I have always loved you from the bottem of my heart but I don't know if you know that so just a quick note to say I LOVE YOU FOREVER!

Now isn't that sweet! There were plenty just as sweet and lovely as that

Also, another priority for as soon as we get back is to write to the primary schools about our Fir Vale Guidebook, so that will also be happening.

    More soon,

    AN AMAZING WEEK

    Hey there!

So, it's been an amazing week for the SmallGiants without bragging or anything!

The badge sales are still going great, we've had loads of orders for over the half term period to design and then of course make when we get back.

Also, the Cupid's Messenger Service, went even better then expected! We started up at break, selling the slips for 50p in the school foyer, and we do have to admit a lot of people were a bit :| about the whole idea, but we managed to talk them around, the other Yr11 group from our school were not helping, telling people not to purchase them!  Of course noone listened to them and carried on buying them!

We also carried on at lunch because it was going quite well in the morning, however we do have to admit it wasn't as busy as it was at break, so we decided that this whole idea was to basically raise funds to go towards our BIG idea, so why not decrease the price a little which we did, and plenty more people started buying them from all year groups, and we ended up making quite a bit of money.

Putting the money made from the Messenger Service and the badges, so far we have made around £75 +, may not seem like a huge amount, but everything counts, and it definately helps when we decide to invest in furthur things.

So, yeah a great week for us. And we'll keep you posted!

    NEW IDEAS

Yes, yet another blog from the SmallGiants, we like to keep you updated, because we are nice like that [that's our blog catchphrase now as you've probably noticed!]

Anyways, so now the badge making business is going extremely well and our Cupids Messenger Service is about to be up and running, our team met for our weekly meeting and started discussing what we'd like to invest that money in.

We all decided that it should be in something to do outside of the school,as our other ideas are already based in school, so we though the local primary schools would be a good place to start.

Therefore, I'm assuming you've all heard of/have/read the CGP revision guides [funky aren't they] all our team agrees that these books are very helpful, so we thought why not make our own styled book like this, but instead of it being a revision guide, it would be a guide to Fir Vale School for children in Yr5 and 6.

We all remembered when we came for induction days and all the rest of it and we all heard the teachers go on about how the school worked and all that, but we never really got the chance to see what the pupils really thought of the school, how they managed to survive certain things and certain teachers, a lot of the important stuff basically!

So that's what we plan to do, put together a shortish book about how to handle Fir Vale School from our point of view.

Of course, first we have to see if the schools are actually interested before we start making loads of books, so Silas is emailing the primary schools over the half-term period and we hope to get a reply as soon as we can!

We'll have to see how it goes, and as always we'll keep you posted :)

    Cupid Messenger Service

    Heyahh Guys!!

Time for an update on our our fundraising idea I think, which is the Cupid's Messenger Service

Well basically, what we've done is set up a completely anonymous service, where pupils from the school can post secret messages to their crushes.... OR just play a little prank on their friends. As long as we're getting the money, we don't mind!

The Process,[Simplified, because it is actually quite complicated]

Starting tomorrow, and this will be continuing after our half term break, even though Valentines Day will have gone, we are still going to be spreading the love!

So, all you have to do is purchase, for 50p, an envelope with a ready-made slip [again, how nice are we, we've done most of it for you!] inside of it, then you fill in that slip however you want and hand the slips back to the SmallGiants. We will then firstly remove all the rude ones [trust me there will be quite a few of them ;)] and then decide on the best 5/10, these will be read out in an amazing themed assembly and the rest will be put up on the intranet for everyone to go and have a nosey and see if they've recieved one!

As very talented people in the business area, our group does know that this isn't a long lasting business, however it will raise quite a bit of money, which will then be put together with the money made from the badges to go towards our BIG business idea. Following me?

As like every other event we did need permission, so the lovely Sahir from our team, did personally ask the Headteacher and the Director of Learning for KS3 and 4, about the whole event, from putting up her amazing posters, which you'll be able to see once I resize and upload it :)

So,the main event will be happening after or half-term so you'll have to wait until then to see how everything went :D

    WE'RE IN BUSINESS!

    Heyloo

Time for an update on how the SmallGiants are doing I think.

So as you know, our first business idea is making and selling customized badges, which is now up and running.

Since Friday 25th Feb. we have been taking orders from various people of all ages in our school for badges, and from Monday 28th we went into production spending lunchtimes making the orders.

And we invited people along to come and see their badges being made AND they could even order either more or their first one. How nice are we to be honest!

Oh yeah, almost forgot our Valentines Day, Cupids Messenger Service is also going into action and posters, memo's etc will be going out by the end of the week telling pupils all about it.

Sooo, if you are following this, you're probably thinking they should have made some money by now. Well your not wrong dude. After being in service from Monday [that makes it 3 days, as todays Wednesday] we have made around £33.60, which is quite good to be fair :D adding that onto the £25 we already recieve, itgives us enough money to invest in something bigger, so watch this space!

Anyhoo, it's been a good week so far for the SmallGiants and we hope it continues!

Time for us to sign off

    SmallGiants  x

P.S. Our team pic. will be coming soon, so you'll be able to see how odd we all look :D

    Heyarrr!

Hey Hey Hey! Hows You Then?

Anyways this is starting to sound like a MSN convo so i'll stop now. :)

So we're the SmallGiants, see what we did there, its an oxymoron for all those who didn't know ;]

Sorry about the late blog though, we had a few tech. problems but tis fine, it's all fixed and we are GOOD TO GO, so be warned because yanno we're winning that trip to Boston don't ya!

Anyhoo, back to business and our group like our team name has decided to start of with a small idea and from there after the money starts rolling in we'll be developing into giant ideas. Following me so far?

Our initial idea is personalised badges for people of all ages, basically because trends like these are always appearing, [remember scoobies!] so we thought why not create one ourselves! How clever are we?! AND our next idea without going into too much detail, its based around Valentines Day [Oooo!]

Oh yeah let me introduce you to our team, because I'm nice like that :)

Thqdeer- MD [that means she's in charge!]

    Maaria [that's me]-Head of Marketing

    Silas- Head of Finance

    Rehana- Art&Design Technician

    Sahir- Secretery& Co-Art&Design Technician

Now you know who we are all, and what our base ideas are, I think that'll do for now :)

    Byeee x :)
