On friday we went and had a meeting with faith. It was really good as we met other bank managers who were also very impressed with our business .

We have finally finished our report which we are all very proud of.

We are still carrying on with our business. Also the master cutler has invited us to his event. We will also be preparing breakfast for the womens inspiration board meeting which means more profit for the business. Faith has invited us to Holiday Inn to see an event being organsied from the beginning all the way to the end.

So we are very  busy and at the same time we are keeping up to date with our school work. It isn't easy.

 Yesterday we had a business development manager from Natwest Bank called Faith Douglas who came to help us with our business report.

It was a very successful meeting and she gave us a few useful tips on how to run a business.

She has also invited us to go and have a meeting with her on friday after school in her office to make final changes to our report. So we are looking forward to that.

 On saturday we went to darnall education centre as we was part of the event which was organised by darnall forum. It was a really successful day as we promoted and publicised our business. On this event we had a number of stalls. We sold cakes, shortbreads, samouses and onion bhajis. All our food was really popular and we even go this women who came up to us and wanted us to cook for her event on 20th March. So after the big challenge we will be earning more money and this time we can keep the money.

At the moment we are writing our big challenge report as our project manager Leila doesn't like to leave things to the last minute.

Hi to everybody, 

                    we were invited to the womens inspiration day at Kenwood Park Hotel by Jill White (who is part of the big challenge). It was great and we really enjoyed it. It fitted great with our advertising week as we promoted our business by giving out business cards and leaflets which we made our self.

Also to grab the customers attention we sold shortcakes and fruit tarts. We also had a raffle for a galaxy easter egg and we also did henna art which was really popular.

The womens inspiration day has really inspired our team members and we met some great women who were really impressed with our bsuiness. There was a women from the company 'John Lewis' who took our details and as she wanted to contact us to tell us when she wants us to come and do henna art for her events. Also we met an event manager (can't remember the company's name) who gave us her email and telephone number so in the future when we want to organise an event she is prepared to help us which was very kind of her. There was this women who was in charge of the Master cook challenge she was also very impressed with our business and took our contact details so she could visit our school.

During Lunch Leila also had to get up and do a pitch for 1 minute . Leila was very nervouse but it was a good practise for when we get put to the test. However alot of people came up and told Leila that she looked very professional and did a great job. So thumbs up to Leila.

We also met Rachel from Dragons Den.

Hi,

  Starting from Monday the 3rd of March to Sunday 9th March we will be advertsing and publicising our business.

Our main goal is to make the public aware of our business so even when the big challenge finishes we want to organise events not just in school but in the community too.

So starting from next week we will be:

• writing letters to schools telling them about our businesses so in the future when they want an event we can organsie it for them and they can pay us.
• Putting posters up in school and in the community with information about our business and contact details.
• We will be handing out leaflets in and out of school
• Finally  we will be doing an assembly about our business

Our future goal is to organise events on a national basis.

Hi,

   Firstly i would like to apologise that it is only for Womens. (Which is Great lol)

   Well i am now going to explain to you how the idea came to us.

Well as you know the events we organsie need a lot of time to organsie which means hard work and as you can see we havn't got alot of time. So sometimes business have to go and look and find oppertunities for themselves.

Well this is exactly what we did. On Monday we had a team meeting and we all sat down and did research and scanned the environemnt and luckily we found out that there was a womens day. So Leila called them and persuaded them to let us be a part of their event. And after a hard work of persuading they said yes. Oh! by the way if we had recorded Leila's conversation with the women called Ann which we regret not doing it would have been worth sending it to 'You've been Framed'

The things she said to persuade them was hilarious. Some of the things she said that we can remeber and written below.

Hi everybody,

     We have been very busy, as saturday 8th march there will be a womens day in Darnall at Darnall education centre and we are part of organising this event. we will be selling biscuits, cakes and buns, we will also be doing nail art and there will be loads of competitions. It should be a great event and we hope that we make a large amount of profit.

As you know everything doesn't go to plan in business. So i apologise for not keeping you up to date.

Anyway our valentine evening was great. All the guests came it was a lovely romantic evening and the food was delicious.

At the end of the evening we gave the guests a feedback sheet to fill in which was designed by Tahira. The feedback asked questiones like how the evening was and if we did it again how we could make it BETTER and BIGGER. As in the world of business there is always room for improvements.

Some of the comments are below:

We have to go as we need to think of another event to organise. we are under a tight schedule as we have only 23 days.

As you know that when we arganise an event we launch a product based on the same theme. So for our valentines evening we have launched ginger heart shaped biscuits covered in chocolate or pink icing. We have been seling these biscuits since monday and they have been very popular. So far we have made £30.

There is only 2 days left for our Valentine evening.

We have been very busy advertising ithe evening, selling tickets  and other little jobs like geting a license before we can give our customers alcohol.

We have hired our tables, chairs, chaflin dishes and table cloths from 'yu can hire'.

I ( Leila ) used my negotiating skills and we got a very good discount from them as I am very good at getting my own way.

Gloria emailed every staff in the school a personlised invitiation to the event.

Lubna has been very busy getting all the differant objects for details such as flowers, napkins and candels. She has done a great job

Tahira has been very busy making sure that all the ingrediants are ordered and that they will be ready in time so steve Rastal (school chef ) can cook the dishes.

We have also incresed our ticket price to £20 as their was a large demand for them so we took the advanatge and thought we should increase our profit.

i have been very busy organising our valentine evening.

On Thursday paul (the camera man) came and filmed our advertisemnet. IT WAS FANTASTIC AND ALL OUR TEAM MEMBERS ENJOYED IT.

As you might have noticed that 3 of our team members are in sixth form and 1 is in year 9. The reason for this is that we decided that as we are the mature students our ideas are differant to the younger ones. So by having a younger team member we can find out what the younger ones want. This has also increased our customers as now we are marketing our events to older people and younger ones. which means more MONEY!!!

  Introduction

Our business is called dream team. We are event organisers. Our USP (unique selling point) is that when we organise an event we also launch a product especialy for the event which we will sell before the event and after. Before we started our business we did some market research. We did this by giving out questionnaires for staff and students in the school and around the community to fill in. The questionnaire asked the customers. if they want us students to start a bussiness that sells chocolates, a business that provides school equipment or a business that organises an event. out of 200, 119 people said they wanted us to start a business that orgainises events as it was something diffreant.

Hi to everybody from DREAM TEAM.

We have been very busy organising a christmas and eid fayre which was on Tuesday the 18th December. We sold handmade truffles, christmas cards, christmas decorations and we also had a tuck shop where we sold drinks, chocolates and sweets. We also had a nail and henna art stall. To advertise our fayre we bought little business cards which had the date and time and venue on it.

It was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND we made a large profit!!!!!!!!!!!!  which was £358

we  are unique from other event organizers because when we organise an event we launch a new product each time.So for the christmas and eid fayre our new product were the handmade chocolate truffles. 

We spended our £25 pound on the cards to make our christmas and eid cards, on our business cards, posters and refreshemnts for our tuck shop. To get the rest of the money for decoration and prizes we invested our own money into it. To make our truffles we needed to buy boxes, chocolate and filling for the truffle which costed us £248. Howver we managed to negotiate with our suppliers and told them that  we will pay them once we had made a profit. Also a business had donated us a stereo player to put on raffle. Which was very generous of them.

Valentine Evening

 we are now orgainising a valentine evening where we will prepare a meal for the guests. The tickets cost £15. The product that we are going to launch for this event will be heart shaped ginger biscuits covered in half chocolate.

Thursday 24th january paul will be coming to our school to film our advertisement for the valentine evening.
