From NEET to Entrepreneur #TwoStrokeTuning

Today was a major step forward for the new enterprise Two Stroke Tuning. We travelled to Barnsley to make our very first scooter investment.

We firstly had to rent a motorbike trailor from the company DBS Trailors based in Attercliffe, Sheffield. They have an excellent, high spec business supplying and selling a variety of trailors. This was the charge for us to bring the scooter in excluding petrol. However, this was a cheaper and more viable option then getting a company to do the pick-up.

From there, we invested £350 into the enterprise investing in a 50cc Yamaha Aerox Scooter. The scooter itself has 11 months MOT and tax. It is a 2004 model and is a brilliant runner. The scooter does have some niggles but with Chris's expertise, we will be able to put these right within the week. We aim to sell the bike within a couple of weeks with a profit percentage of around 45%. This breaks down to £15 an hour for Chris and £10 an hour for me and Joe. In terms of investment, me and Joe hope to double our money within the month and kick on from there.

Chris has far exceeded our expectations with his stock sourcing skills. The company DRScooters were a brilliant company to do business with and had a brilliant business model. Hopefully one day Chris can meet their standards and with the ability he has demonstrated to date, I have every confidence he will do so. Chris has shown great potential since we drew up the agreement demonstrating expertise, knowledge, enthusiasm and drive. Me and Joe aim to harness this and take him and his business forward.

This first project is a test for both Chris and the scooter market. We hope to make significant progress but above all, learn the skills we need to be more profitable next time. As this is a new market for me and Joe, we need time to adjust and understand the dynamics which will obviously help us and Chris in the future. Below is the Ebay link to the product we have sourced. And as you can see, we have uploaded some pictures of the Bike, the trailor and where we sourced it from.

For now, this is a brilliant start and we hope to continue into the future. SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

Chris Howe- Invigorate Sheffield's first investment

Invigorate Sheffield today made it's first investment in a young entrepreneur named Chris Howe. Invigorate Sheffield is a new enterprise that's funded by it's parent company, Two Old Classics. The profits made from TOC are being used to not only re-invest in stock but to make business investments across Sheffield in young entrepreneurs with similar business models, target markets etc. so we can offer expertise to help them grow.

Chris and his business Two Stroke Tuning are a business that buy in, modify and sell scooters with service work offered as an extra. He has great enthusiasm for his business which is what was so compelling about his business pitch. His knowledge and expertise were second to none however it was obvious he struggled with business knowledge and cash.

We are very confident that we can offer Chris good expertise as he is working in a very similar field to us. His business aims at the younger market (Similar to TOC) with excellent modifications. He is also dealing in the Motor Trade industry which is why we are confident we form a superb partnership.

Together with me and Joe, we believe we can offer him a fantastic opportunity to not only grow his idea and make brilliant profits, but to also gain specialist skills in a trade he wants to opreate in with the comfort of not doing it alone. He currently isn't in training or education so we are offering him an opportunity he may not otherwise get.

++Invigorate Sheffield wants to make similar investments in the future to offer young entrepreneurs with specialist skills opportunities to start up and grow their businesses with the help of us to offer advice, investment and time.
